If I plant the seed found in the pods from day lilies, will day lilies grow from them?

Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm not really sure, but they're really easy to transplant. Just pull a few out with the root (easier when they're young), and replant. They grow and multiply like crazy!

In addition to the previous post, if you have been growing your daylillies for a number of years, you may want to divide them at this time - that seems to be the best way to do it - they multiply within a couple of years......

Blessings,

I believe you have to actually hybridize them to make it work, but here's a detailed article on it:

Daylily Propagation Methods, hybridizations methods (http://www.mikesbackyardgarden.org/daylilyprop.html)

Also, I bought a bunch of daylily seeds from someone on EBay-- they did all the work of hybridizing and then I just planted them. Still young but they are growing, so that might be another way to go. Very inexpensive.
