I'm doing some slow-paced remodeling around my 6x9 bathroom in a 750' sqft southern California bungalow.

Bathroom venting has never impressed me with its ability to move/circulate air.

Would it be crazy to install two fans, one blowing air into the room and the other sucking it out? Both the inflow and exhaust would terminate at vents located on the house exterior. The idea of a windy bathroom has me intrigued. I don't mind spending around $100 per fan and the ducting runs are only each about 5' in length.

Possibly in the colder months it would dump some chilled air into the room but only for short time lengths and I'd be willing to settle for the trade of faster/fresher air.

Any thoughts?

That would work fine but you would need carefully balance the flow to ensure a negative pressure within the room.
If you wanted to increase airflow you would need to do it with a considerably larger exhaust fan and a smaller make up air fan.
You would want to ensure that the room is at a negative pressure in relation to the rest of the house.

Also, you would have to make a filter/bug screen on the inlet of the make up air fan and have it easy to clean.
