I was getting ready to add detergent to the wash when I realized the handle on the bottle was kind of grainy feeling...it was weird! Anyway, I looked at it and it looked like dust...very fine, tan stuff. I am sure some of it was dust, but then I began to look closer and realized it was moving!! It is so tiny it is like microscopic...I really had to concentrate to see that it was moving (slowly). I then realized it was on the back of the washer and in some other places in that area. The washer and dryer are in the basement...The basement is damp and dark. I have never noticed whatever this is before. I don't even really know if I would call it a bug because it is so itty bitty. It really looks like dust. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and what I can do to get rid of it??? I wiped it all down with a lysol wipe, but they came back...like they are in the air...please let me know if you have any suggestions....

What you have here would be probably what I haven't seen before. Are they more like sesame seeds or smaller than than? Or more like a grain of sand?

Maybe try wiping the affected areas down with bleach? My choice would be a one part bleach/5 parts water dilution.....protect your hands with gloves, and keep the area as vetilated as you can... ( Obviously, do not use in any area that may have some connections or that you otherwise do not want to use bleach on...)

They are as small as a grain of sand I would say...I mean tiny...it is very hard to see that they are moving without really focusing/concentrating on them. They are strange and there are hundreds of them. It really just looks like a spot of dust, but it isn't. I have never seen anything like it either...
