I had a non-programable totaline unit (model P474-0100) I am trying to replace with a Honeywell 5/2 day programmable thermostat (model #RTH230B); I have central AC and then gas heat w/a furnace. I have 5 wires coming out of the wall, a red wire, green wire, white wire, yellow wire, and blue wire; there is another copper wire that wasn't being used and was wrapped around the mail line (not installed anywhere) on the original totaline unit; I made note of the locations on the old thermostat (Red was to R, Green was to G, Yellow was to Y1, White was to W1 and Blue was to C), and followed the directions for the Honeywell-nothing. I then saw another post here w/virtually the same identical problem, and followed those directions, still nothing. It's like my system doesn't have any power. I've checked all the breakers and switches, and don't know what else to check! the Honeywell will wait 5 minutes, and then there will just be a very faint 'click' and then nothing happens. I cannot get the fan/blower to even come on. I called the Honeywell help line and they were absolutely useless. The Indian lady who assisted me said that the Honeywell units do not coincide w/the colors of the wires-I have absolutely never heard this before. Does anyone have any suggestions out there? Thanks & confused-

Did you turn off the furnace when you did the change out?
Do you have a meter to check to see if you got power? If not, short G and R wire together, the fan should come on.
