I just built a new 6' cedar fence and now it has come time to choose a stain for it. I would like to preserve the look of new cedar as best as possible. Currently I am considering a Behr and Olympic stain/sealer.
Behr Natural Cedar #501:
Wood Stains & Waterproof Wood Finishes - Behr Paints (http://www.behr.com/dsm-ext/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=3f85f11390a59110VgnVCM1000006b0910acRCRD&vgnextfmt=default)
Olympic Maximum Waterproofing Sealant:
Olympic Stain - Clears (http://www.olympic.com/stain_products/exterior_stains/clears/index.htm)
Anyone who has used both of these that can give me some pros-cons? or maybe some alternatives? General thoughts?
Thanks!

I've not used the Behr stain and can't remember if I've used that particular OLympic stain but I question the use of both. All deck, siding and fence stains are water repellant. There is no need for additional sealer until the stain has deteriorated enough to need recoating.
Generally you are better off going to a paint store for your paint/stain needs. They will have better coatings and help with more painting knowledge than the typical big box paint dept.
The behr site still hasn't loaded [stuck with dial up] so I can't tell if their stain is even compatible with the olympic clear stain.

Behr vs. Olympic??
Get out of the big box stores and go to a real paint store. You'll be happier in the long run.
