I just bought an MP 3 Player with the hopes of using it inthe car. I also bought an FM transmitter which worked OK when I was traveling Rural. But since I spend 98% of my time close (I can see NY city when I drive) to NY city it did not work out for me.
Does any one know of any options to listen to my new MP3 through the stereo or of a good FM Transmitter that works near NY city?
Thanks in advance

Does your car have a CD player or a tape deck? I've seen connections where you put a "CD" or a "Tape" in and the other end connects to your MP3 player, then it plays through the car's stereo system.

And I am assuming there is no "aux" jack on the face of the radio, right?

Correct there is no aux jack on the front of the radio. Stock radio from Chevy.

they do make interfaces for some factory radio that allow you to connect an ipod to a stock stereo via aux input on the REAR of the stereo, i did it for my tundra, and my stock cd player is by passed when set to aux mode on the stereo, i have yet to see a decent fm based tuner that is worth anything, most if not all get interference and break up during playback
so their might be some sort of interface
