Hi guys,

My house (mostly) has the original wall registers and duct work from when it was built in the 1950s. The openings are 12x4", but have an interior lip that blocks the installation of any new registers. The current registers also screw into small half inch L-brackets that are fastened to the interior sides of the duct behind the lip.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? I have a bathroom that we are finishing remodeling that had the register missing when we bought the house. We can't find anything like the original registers anywhere, and the walls are plaster so replacing the duct isn't really desirable.

Thanks,
Mark
