I have searched the area thoroughly for 16' garage door struts which I need to stabilize the door from the wind. Where can I purchase 2- 16' struts? I have only found them on the internet but I would need to place a minimum order of 20. I think 20 is a bit much. I really know I can address the situation by myself without hiring a professional but I refuse to order 20 pieces of strut material. Please let me know if there is a place that I can order or buy 2 . Thanks for the help!

Look up local garage door installers in your area. One may sell just the strut, without installation.

all contacted have asked for either delivery fees which are the same as a "house call" or simply won't come out unless they "get the job". Which I feel comfortable doing myself.

What kind of door? Depending on brand you can order these parts from a local Big Box store like HD or Lowes. Possibly smaller hardware stores like ACE as well if they sell doors and openers for the DIY'r, I'm not sure. Its best to call the door maker and get the part number..then go to the store and have them do a quote..they will probably have to call their distributor for pricing.
In VA we ordered four 16' struts for a customers Clopay door..it was about $60 total. I was going to order some for my house here and it was closer to $60 EA. All depends on shipping costs. Our distributor in VA was only 60 miles away and we had weekly factory deliveries, here the distributor is about 200 miles and has to ship via contracted trucking. They don't even stock doors for the DIY person.
