Would Dupioni Silk be suitable to re-upholstary a tuffed back chair?

Only if you have it backed first to strengthen it, or the chair needs to be reupholstered with another fabric first, then again with batting or interlining, then the silk.
By itself, it will tear or get pulls and it won't be long until it needs to be reupholstered yet again. :eek:
