Id the old black challenger motor faster than the new Genie GD 600 can anybody direct me to a site where i can get technical info to compare opening and closing speeds

Genie manufactures the fastest screw drive openers on the market and have done so for the last 20 years. Challenger was an Allstar brand opener which recently sold the company to the Linear Corporation, Linear LLC - Intercoms, Personal Emergency, Door and Gate Operators, Access Control, Security, Central Vacuum (http://www.linearcorp.com). If you're just simply looking for a fast opener, go with a Genie Excelerator.

There are no speed comparison charts available that I know of. But I do recall the Genie Company producing a Genie Excelerator video online that displays the speed of the Genie Excelerator versus a generic opener.
