I have a question regarding something i did rong when istalling a new capacitor and fan motor. I hook everything up properly and started the unit. Everything was working just fine as i was placing the cover back on the capacitor made contact with the ground wire of the main conection coming from the house and made pretty big nasty sparks and before you knew it the fan motor stoped working. I think everything outside stoped working. I recete the system by pulling the breaker and receting it and then starting the unit again. The contactor engages but no fan motor or compressor comes on. I was wondering if you had any ideas as to what my problem might be, please let me know thanks Mike.

I would imagine you blew the cap depending on what touched what.
But you may possibly have a fused disconnect for the unit. Do you have a box mounted near it on the house..turn the breaker off and check that.

Check the panel inside your house, make sure the breaker is not tripped.
