I have a 12000 BTU unit that fell out of window and landed on the ground. Long story on how that happended, however, when it fell out the unit was plugged in and pulled the plug out and did damage to control board. Replaced the control board and fixed the plug. However, the unit will not come on, the fan or compressor will not start.
If I use the remote control to turn on and adjust the fan speed temp etc all of that lights up and works but the fan or compressor does nothing.
Could someone please suggest what else that I might could look for.
It is a 12000 BTU Samsung window unit...Thanks

So many things could have happened...now is the time to start looking for a replacement.
The prices should be going downhill quickly w/in the next week or 2.

how high was it before it hit the ground...concentrate on gettng the fan running is it free spinning right now.that control board is the line voltage feed to the fan and compressor so check those for voltage out to either.

Even if you get it to run I'd worry about cracked solder joints in the refrigeration system.

Sounds like you need to make a trip to the Depot.
