I have Compass (1.5.8.78) and need help with settings to connect to a 7845GSM. Modem connection works fine but would like a second connection method.

If easier, my email is in my profile...

From looking at the info on the Honeywell tech site, the direct download trick only works with the 7845GSM connected to Vista 128 or Vista 250 panels.

Thanks for getting back...

A green cover pamphlet K6126V1 came with the 7845GSM which is where I am getting my information from...

It does indicate the panels you mention, but also references that Vista 20P Rev 5.2 or higher (along with a few others) is compatible with the unit. It also indicates "site maintenance independent of central station monitoring" is accomplished using the updated version of Compass.

While the modem connection works fine the error message I get back when trying to connect is:

TCPONComm
Panel disconnected due to either
1) Incorrect Subscriber ID
2) Panel not responding

I know, since it is my panel, the subscriber ID is good (modem would not work otherwise)

My current monitoring center also uses the GSM to pull reports so I believe it is some setting I have wrong...

Anything to do with AlarmNet???

Hard to tell. There is often a lag between these type of updates going into the distribution packages and showing up on the technical website.

We download through the GSM, iGSM and 7847i here at work quite a bit. It is a bit more finicky than the phone line, though. On the vista low series it really depends on the revision. On the Vista 20p it must be revision 5+.

Found the issue and thought I would share!!!

My panel is 5.2 and once I selected None for the modem (Normally 2400 SmartModem) everything started working. I would think selecting the IP would take a higher priority than the modem, but guess not.

Have sucessfully now connected and uploaded with both modem and GSM.

If my panel had been one of the older versions, say 2.5, what upgrade path if any is available?

Thanks, MrRonFL and kcxj...

You would need to replace the board...
