So I have read the user manual.... I have searched the net, and this forum and cant figure out what is going on.

I have the System Batt Lo error that shows up on my displays. I have changed out the System Battery located in the lock box. The new battery is fully charged and has been connected to the alarm for weeks.. The System Batt Lo error never goes away.

I have checked to make sure all the wire connections are secured to the posts... and they are. I have powered down touch pads but have not tried removing all the power yet, but am not sure that would accomplish anything.

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts on what exactly might be causing this error.

Thank you all.

Look carefully, is the low battery indication associated with a zone number?

If so, then you have a wireless device with a low battery (assuming that you have wireless)

Also, look carefully at your battery connections. I've seen people do this by hooking up the battery terminals with the wrong polarity.

The exact message is System Bat Lo with no zone or other information on the fault/error.

The wires are connected red to red and black to black.

I dont think we have any wireless add ons.. we have 2 touch message centers but I dont believe those are wireless.. In fact I looked at them.. they are wired... and the other is a larger analog push button controller.

Any other thoughts?
Thanks

Simple test: Take the wire off of the first terminal on the motherboard (disconnect 16vac power) and check your battery. If the battery drops much below 12vdc, then you got a bum battery. If not, then there is a problem in the internal power supply of the alarm control.
