All: first I want to thank everyone that helped me with info on how to take care of my new sod. It seemed to be going great especially with the large amounts of rain SW Ohio got this year. I started out watering every other day for about 1hr in each spot to give roughly 1-2". The sod did great: good rooting, good color and good growth. The sod was planted back in May. Now that it's August and we still have one of the coldest and wettest summers on record I had scaled back the watering to 1x/week 1-2". I have only mowed the lawn 2x and the second time didn't really seem to need it in the front (little shade) but the sides did (plenty of shade). I've changed my watering routine to 3x/week 1-2" even with all the rain. Yet the front yard still seems to be turning brown with little growth and almost 3-4 weeks without mowing. Is my lawn dying??

I also have a weed grass that is growing, annoying me greatly. It is a lighter green about the same shade as this smilie: :D But the blades near the root turn white and then a purplish color. I was thinking it was quack grass b/c when i pull them, more keep coming back and in larger numbers. have I got a quackgrass problem too?

Thanks
