I am retired and cannot afford to replace my entire roof at this time but I still have a potential problem with an area about 10'X12'. The majority of the roof is ok but this one section has curled shingles and cracks. While I have no known leaks at this time I am wondering if it would be advisable for me to replace such a large area. I will not be able to match the existing shingles since this (manufactured house) is about 11 years old. I'm not worried about the shingles not matching as the section is not facing the road.
A new roof should be possible in about 2 years so would it be worth it to contact a contractor to do such a repair job with the offer of doing the whole job when we are able?

It's worth it if you can find someone who will do it. Most roofers don't want a partial job. You might be able to find some day workers or a handyman with roofing experience.
