I changed out my system to a GE Concord 4. I had 10 existing System Sensor 4 wire smokes (4WT-B). Are these compatible with the GE Concord 4 system? If so, what is the wiring ? Thanks bdo

I had a couple of these on my Concord 4 system, so I'd have to say yes. I have since replaced them with new ones, they were pretty old and from a previous system. You may have to change the power supervisor relay, mine had a build-in resistor that was the wrong value for the Concord system.

I have wired them to zones 7 and 8.

The system kept on giving an alarm on 7 which I resolved with the resistor.

Then the system kept giving an error on zone 8. Is it true that I should just delete zone 8 as that is the power (I have set the setting for 2 zone smokes ON). - update so I did this and the smokes no longer give an error..BUT...

after I trigger the smokes, and I hit 11234 on the keypad twice, the smokes do not turn off - they keep on going. Do I have to set something to reset the smokes and get them to turn off?

Thanks
BDO

Now you're asking me to go looking in my manual. :)

To reset the smokes, you have to turn off power to the smokes, which Zone 8 is used for. I happen to have mine (4 wire GE) to a 8Z SnapCard, I don't use the basic panel connections for them. I'm pretty sure that you leave the definition of Zone 8 blank. GEGUY is the authority on this panel, at least from what I see. Hopefully he'll respond and correct any mistakes in my information. :D

I'm not sure what happened, but I unplugged everything, re hooked it up and then powered it all up.

All the errors are gone and the zones are all functioning EXCEPT I am getting a "BUS ERROR ID 0 (ZERO) "

What does this mean?

I have

ID 0 - ? (dont know what this is except main panel???)
ID 1- Keypad 1
ID 2 - Keypad 2
ID 3 - Home automation module

Help!

It's not the main panel.
Did you use a programming keypad? Any other BUS devices on your system?

The installer friend did use a programming pad when setting up the system. We couldnt get the regular zones to learn without just tripping them at the panel (I dont know why we were having trouble). We have disconnected that now. There are no other bus devices/units connected. Thanks bdo

There's your problem...you need to go into programming and delete BUS device 0. Look under ACCESSORY MODULES then BUS DEVICES...
