Heres the back story; Was cutting vines down around the A/C unit outside to clean out the coils, when I hit the brown wire (Thermostat) running to the unit; The wire didn't split or break but pulled the connection away from the wire comming off the contactor connection; Thinking it was a simple fix I used a wire nut and reconnected the connection; Nothin... I followed the brown wire all the way through the craw space in my house to the blower unit and there were no splits or breaks in the wire. I went back to the unit outside and fiddled around w/ the contactor, when I push the center connection in on the contactor where the thermostat closes the curcuit the outside unit kicks on. But nothing happens to the blower motor in the basement. The ASAP part in the title is due to the cookout I'm having this afternoon and need to get this fixed befor then... Please help, Thanks

Can you post a couple of pice of what wires came off and what you did?

Unfortuantly I cannot, I'm at work right now. But it was the red wire coming off of the connection going to the coil in the back of the contactor, if that helps.

Have you tried operating the system with the stat?

By just turning the stat on cool? Yes

Well, by turning it in cool and lowering set point below room temp.

If so and nothing happens, it may be very difficult to get running this afternoon considering your at work

First thing to do is check for 24v at coil of contactor with stat on and calling for cooling

Probably blew the low voltage fuse on the air handler circuit board.
