:(I have a Safewatch 3000EN alarm system with a voice announced keypad. The voice on it sometimes works and then sometimes it doesnt work. The battery I think is about 4 years old. Chime mode is on. I've tried to disconnect the main power from it to see whether the display would read low battery or something like that but, it only reads ac loss. Does the battery need to be replaced or/and charger? The battery is a 12v 4ah battery. Please help me. Thank u in advance.:(

In most security systems, if you don't have a lot of brownouts/blackouts the backup battery will be reliable for 5-7 years.
The fact that it sustained the system when you dropped AC power is actually the basic test. The system itself runs a load test on the battery every 24 hours.
For the voice announce issue, what specific things do and don't work? Some things, like custom zone descriptiors that aren't on the list that the keypad works with simply cannot be announced.
Otherwise, this is a rather vague trouble description, you need to be more specific.
