i have a kenmore series 80 gas dryer that has no heat when loaded. when emtpy it seems to make good -- normal heat. it does make a clicking noise -- like it is trying to light for about 15 seconds then stops noise but still no heat and the dryer keeps running.
thanks for any help!!!

all it says is series 80 --
the burner, igniter, etc are all located under the drum. if i take the front cover/houeing off of the dryer there is no support for the front of the drum. i only have no heat when the dryer is loaded, although at time there seems to be heat like when it cycles but not for long.
thanks

Inside door should be a tag with model# and serial #. Take off front and rum and than run dryer. Will have to have door switch pluged in and door closed. If lights for a minute and than won't relight you most likely will need the gas coils.

Easy when you know where to find them
Mod # 110.74832400
Ser# mr2006253
If I take the front off to see the burner and all there is nothing to hold the front of the drum up. I do not really feel safe running this with no support.
I do not even see any coils where would they be located? and other than running the dryer how would I
I test them.
It seems that when there is only a very light load it works fine or at least seems to.
Thanks for your help!!

Take the drum out also. UNPLUG DRYER FIRST Reach under drum and take belt off idler and than take drum out. Follow what I said earlier. Sry though I had said to take drum out in last post.

OK ---- igniter glows for about 15 seconds than lights gas and that will burn for about 10 sec. than 45 sec later it will do the same thing again. Did this several times for about 10 minutes with the same results.
Is there a way to test the coils?
Thanks

Dryer sounds like working ok, Reason it shuts off so fast is no air flow with parts removed, I think you need to have the vent to the outside cleaned, Try to dry a load with vent off back of dryer, If dries ok you need to have vent cleaned or replaced. Air flow at back of dryer should be the same outside.

ok --- now back to it --had to go out of town.
Well what is the first thing you are supposed to do when working on these?? UNPLUG THEM!!!
brain cramp occurred and i went to put the filter housing/cover? on the back of the dryer and of course got sparks when i touched a 4 prong switch?.
after unpluging it and taking the cover back off and pluging it back in it runs but there is now no heat, at all.
WHAT DID I DO NOW???

Can't think of what you could of burn out. Check flame sensor and ignitor for opens.
