Howdy folks, Another new guy here, a buddy of mine suggested the site and I've been really impressed with the wealth of knowledge available. So let me thank everyone up front! I have had a GE Concord Pro-6000 setup for almost 4 years now after a burglary. I've been really happy with the product and would happily recommend it. It's a basic setup with window and door sensors, a few motion detectors and glass break detectors in the gun room. Everything has functioned flawlessly but I recently got a bug to start customizing the features, better late than never. This is my keypad:

I've read through the manual a few times in detail and I'm still unable to find answers. On to the questions! YEEHAW! 1. I would like to turn the volume of the Keypad beeps down or completely off. I have enabled 'silent arming' and it works fine but I would like to not hear those obnoxious beeps every time I press a key. I think I would rather risk a break in than wake the ole lady up from her beauty sleep. The manual has a small section on adjusting touch pad beeps but it relates to the 'Fixed Display Touchpad' which I do not have ( I have the alphanumeric). I also noticed a sentence early in the manual that states that the keybeeps can be turned on and off by the installer. I've manually gone through all of the programming shortcuts and I did find 'Volume' but I think it only relates to the volume if I have the voice module (which I do not)Is there any way I can do this myself? 2. I noticed a feature called 'quick arming'. I would love to use this feature but once again the manual says 'contact your installer if you want to activate this option'. Can I do this on my own? I'm sure I could call the original installer regarding both of these questions but it would be really nice to learn how to do it on my own and save a few bucks on the service call. If you have been able to tolerate my rambling so far...thanks! I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say and I would really appreciate any input you may have.
Thanks again!Beer 4U2

You can do both scenarios, but you need the installer or dealer code to access the features.

Thanks for the response. How would I go about getting the installer code? Is there a certain number sequence I have to put in to get to those menus?

Chances are, your installer changed it, but see if 8+4321+00 gets you in to SYSTEM PROGRAMMING (4321 being the default installer code). Also, you need an alphanumeric touchpad for this, not fixed english.

Thanks again, I have an Alpha Num. keypad. I just downloaded the Installer Instructions and I see where it mentions the 8+4321+00 code.
I'm guessing by your name that you are an installer? Let me ask ya this....If for some reason they changed the code from 4321 to something else, do I have the right to ask them for the code? I own the system outright and I use the same company I purchased it from to do the monitoring. They also did the install.
Is the installer code something I have the right to or can they tell me to pack sand?
Thanks again.

I do installs on the side..! Tough question to answer, lots of variables...What does your contract say? Others on the forum will chime in on this one. I'd give em a call and ask, worse they can so is "no". Do you know the account number?

Well I gave things a shot when I got home this afternoon and unfortunately no luck. Here is the rundown:
1. 8+4321+0+0 ='enter code' remained on screen
2. 8+mycode = 'enter command' This was without pressing the 00.
3. 8+mycode+0+0 = Got a beep and took me back to my homescreen (time and date)
4. 8+any four numbers+0+0='enter Code' remained on screen (same as #1)
It seems that when I put 8+ mycode I get 'enter command' but 8+any four gets 'enter code'
Any ideas?

One more question buddy:
I noticed you mentioned that I need an 'alpha numeric' display, does that mean I need an extra one that I plug directly into the panel (saw this in the install manual) or can I do all this programming through the alpha numeric I have mounted on the wall (the main one I use to arm and disarm)?

The reason I tried 'mycode' was because during the install I asked them to change the master code to something I could easily remember. Thought I would give it a try.
Any other suggestions? I'm gonna give the folks a call tomorrow and ask if they will give me the code. I've had most of the installers over at some time or another when getting new sensors installed, real cool guys and easy to do business with.
Thanks again, I really appreciate your time.

You can do certain commands with 8+ your master code, but none that will do you any good in this situation (that's why it asks you to enter a command)...If they keypad is the one you posted a pic of, you're good to go, don't need a different one...

If you know the account number, I may be able to help you....

Got in touch with a tech at the alarm company today and he gave me the installer code! Yeehaw! Of course it came with a stern warning that I am fully responsible for what happens when I start mucking around in those menus. Point was well taken. I carefully navigated through the menus and made the changes I needed to. Everything works great!
Thanks again GEGUY, I appreciate the help.Beer 4U2
