Hello! The other day my AC randomly stopped working. I went to go check it out and I got the error LED code 24 on my Bryant control. I looked that up and it said to replace the 3 amp fuse, which I did.
I noticed that my thermostat was acting a little funky, so I went out and bought a new one, along with a new air filter. Got everything installed correctly and the unit started back up.
I set the temp to 68 degrees and let it run for 2 days straight.. but the thermostat will not go below 78 degrees.
I can feel cool air coming from the vents in the house, and hot air is blowing out of the unit outside.
Don't understand what is wrong here... anyone ever experience this before?
Thanks for looking!

First check the cool air come out of the vent, they should be at least 15 degrees lower than your room temperature. the air blow should be strong (another word, not weaker than before) if not, you have a problem.

It doesn't feel that cold... definitely doesn't feel like 68 degree air. The air flow seems good though.
I just had the coolant refilled for the outside unit so that shouldn't be it...

If your Tstat indicates 78 degree, another word, your room temperature at that time is 78, then your vent air should be 63degree or lower. If not, there is a problem. and you should not let your system run 2 days straight without stop anyway. low freon, dirty filter, dirty coil, compressor problem, air leak, etc.can be one of many many reasons..... By the way, does the outside unit run at all. Check to see if both the outside fan and the compressor are running. especially, the compressor, you can not see if the compressor is running, but you should be able to hear it...Also check the outside big pipe(insulated one), they should feel cold, real cold....also remember, freon refill can cause a leak if they don't do it right, or the connector is too old, etc.

Outside unit is less than a year old. Everything is running, just doesn't seem to be enough air, or the air coming out isn't cold enough. Which would be the compressor, right?

Since the unit is only one year old, let's hope the compressor is OK. I guess , just a guess, low freon is your problem (since you for some reason refilled the freon once already, you shouldn't have to do that for a new unit, may be there is a leak), but there are so many other things can cause the air not cold. so call the tech back.. and let us know what he say.
