Hello.

I've got a customer who's apparently been sold a "bill of goods" concerning a pool modernization.

I've got some technical questions about converting a Easy Touch 4 to allow it to operate more pool components.
The present panel only has 4 relays....one for the filter pump and 3 auxiliary relays.
The owner has at least 6 items that need to be powered individually from this panel.
I can't double up components on the existing relays because it won't give the required versatility.

I've searched the Pentair web site, and apparently it's not possible to expand the panel output beyond what's already installed.....4 pumps.
I need a output for the pool light, and waterfall light.
I need to control these (plus the pumps) from the remote control, so they will have to come thru the Easy Touch 4 panel.

Is it possible to replace the existing Easy Touch 4 PC with a Easy Touch 8 PC (just the innards), without having to change the enclosure?

I realize that I will have to replace the existing 4 button remote to a 8 button.

I hope that there is someone who's familiar enough with this system to answer some questions, as it's a real problem with this pool.

I'm a licensed electrician, not a pool specialist, although, I'm familiar with programmable controls.
I'm also a retired Mechanical Engineer, and am very well versed in pumping and piping systems and motor controls.
This is for a trusted customer of mine, and she asked me to get the answers and try to figure it out.

The "Pool Specialist" that she had got her into this mess, and has been terminated.
I'm not downing the "Pool professionals" that are very capable,
just this one "fly by nighter" who apparently knew just enough to get into trouble.

All responses are very much appreciated, and will be answered.

thanks
steve
