I have had to replace my AC capacitor twice this summer (which thanks to fellow DIYer I did my self) and just a min ago I realized my inside temp had gone up 5 degrees in just a few mins. What other problem might I have that causes multiple new capacitors to go bad? We just had a power surge on friday, could that cause a capacitor to blow?

These new type capacitors are weak, the manufacturers are no longer allowed to use the good stuff to build them as it is not enviromentally acceptable. The ban on the dangerous ingredients does seem to cut down on the amount of children born with birth defects.
