I have had to replace my AC capacitor twice this summer and just a min ago I realized my inside temp had gone up 5 degrees in just a few mins. What other problem do I have that causes multiple new capacitors to go bad? thanks Zack

power surges(lightning strike)/short cycling/over or under rated constant voltage supply/bad batch of capacitors/bad compressor or fan motor/neighbors pet squirrel is chewing holes in the side of the capacitor?

happens more times than we would like. Read the data plate for the cap MFD and Voltage directly off the motor itself, not the unit. The rated voltage will likely be either 370 or 440, the run cap will be like 3.5 or 5 mfd. check all your connections too for tightness and corrosion. replace any in doubt. Don't forget to amp the motor after its running with the panel on. It should read whats = to or less than whats on its data tag.
Make sure you have the rubber boot covering the terminals on the cap.
