I have recently moved into a house with a GE concord home security system with no record of the dealer/installer code(s). I do have the factory code, the system number and level, a system/partition master code and a user code. Pretty much every code except the one I need.

The dealer who installed the system is unable or unwilling to provide the dealer/installer code(s) so it seems impossible for me to switch monitoring company or use the system myself without having to buy a new system. This is crazy as I own the system. Any ideas on how I can get or reset the dealer/installer code?

The factory default is 4321...Other than trying that, not much else you can do.

try to find out how to do a hardware "reset to factory". In my system (different brand than yours), you have to disconnect battery and AC power, short the EEPROM terminals, connect back power and wait 10 secs. Then the factory programing installer code should work.

Doesn't work like that on a Concord...You need the installer/dealer code to clear memory.

Thanks - it looks like this is a common problem.

I've just checked out the state's consumer advisory on lock out codes and apparently consumers who own alarm systems should have access to the lock out codes, which must be defaulted or released to the consumer for their access to the security system’s program levels.

GE Security don't seem to be able to help and other than trying the 9999 codes, looks like there is no other option for getting access to the codes.

If I have to replace the system, does the whole control module need to be replaced or is it possible to replace some of the components?

If that's the case, then the installation company should provide the code to you, it's out of GE's control once that code is changed...

The download software is an option if you know what the account number is...(and download account number, but I doubt this has been changed). If that route is not an option, you just need to swap out the motherboard and can still use all the other devices. PM me if you need more help...

Progress...the installation company has advised both the installer and the dealer codes. Unfortunately I still cannot enter Program Mode.

When entering 8+installer/dealer code(s), I get the "ENTER CMD" prompt but entering 00 results in a beep and sends me back to the default screen that shows the time. According to the installation manual I found online, entering 8+installer/dealer code(s)+0+0 should get you into Program Mode.

I can get into user programming mode (9+code), Phone test (8+code+2) and Sensor test (8+code+3), but not Partition jump (8+code+6) or Event History (8+code+8).

It would also be helpful to know what version of the installation manuals and user manuals relate to factory code 200-1416 but GE Security are not able to assist me on that either.

Can you help please?

Factory code does you no good...Don't worry about it. Sounds like your problem is that you have a Fixed English Keypad. You need an alphanumeric keypad to get into full installer programmming. You can use 8+code+03 on a Fixed English keypad to get into "Quick Programming". This will get you access to the account numbers, phone numbers, and learn sensors menu.
