Does any one know where I can get some plans for building an old-fashioned built-in ironng board?

I don't have any plans, but there are others that visit this site that probably do. Have you tried your local library? I would be surprised if there aren't some older books that have what you are looking for. There should be plans from the days when you couldn't just go out and buy a built-in Ironing board! I would be glad to help with methods for making the parts for your project once you have found plans you are satisfied with. Or if you want to invent something from scratch (as I did for my wife's laundry room) I would try to help there as well.

Although there are a few wrinkles in my response here, I'm sure they can be ironed out!

I can give you a couple of avenues to search.

First, wood magazine (woodmagazine.com) had plans in issue 117 (Oct 99) for an ironing board storage cabinet with shelves above the board and a door to conceal everything.

Secondly, I think if you go to the plans search section of the wood magazine website the plans are viewable and downloadable.

Best of luck with no wrinkles!!!!..Monty
