Hi,
I have an ADT safewatch 3000 system (currently unmonitored by ADT). It has 2 panels and apparently my exisitng smoke detecors are wireless. I added a couple of rooms upstairs (so disconnected the service during the construction as had to move wires, etc) & added 3 new smoke detectors (apparently wired) and window sensors for the new rooms upstairs.
Now, I want to switch to a another alarm service for monitoring (like guardian), but they need the codes for programming the new smoke detectors etc to my existing system. They could get the system up and running again (still unmonitored) and recommended I call ADT to have them program the new detectors into the system and then they can provide the monitoring services.
However, the ADT guys wont program it unless I restart service from them (which is more expensive... I was paying something like $48 a month for the past 2 years and am sure the new service will come with a contract as well).
The other option is to change the circuit board to Honeywell Vista 20P, but will also need to change the panels, existing detectors, etc and would apparently cost $1000 or so.
Any suggestions about how I can get to program in the new aones (without ADT folks)? I don't think I have the original manual or codes (since I am the 4th owner of the house).
Thanks.

Any decent alarm company should be able to program this panel. If in the rare event that the panel cannot be programmed, then all you should have to do is replace the board (about $30 wholesale). You can reuse the RF receiver and the existing sensors.

Well at least the guardian guy could not & they also told me that if i change the curicuit board, i need to change the keypads as well.....
i am going to try some other company.
In the meantime, any help is appreciated.

The trick is that they cannot program it over the phone. The ADT version uses a different version of the downloader software.
Unless this ADT franchise used the installer lockout (unlikely) keypad programming is very basic.

Well, the guardian guy was not doing it over the phone, but was physically there at my house, but said he needed the programing codes (whatever that meant). I looked for the original manual to see if they put any codes in the notes section (installer code, master code, etc) but haven't found it yet. I guess I would have to go with ADT, but hate paying $48 a month for monitoring.

I guess he doesn't know Ademco style panels. Look in the sticky titled "Alarm Forum FAQ (Please read before posting).
The procedure for extracting the installer code from this panel is listed out there. The system is a slightly modified Vista 20p.
(P.S. The ADT installer code is fairly commonly known (they just fuss if we post it here). Just websearch using the phrase "ADT installer code")
