When I bought my house, it had a new Vista system installed, but I never activated it. I have followed the instructions and after plugging in the tranformer, then battery, I go to the keypad and try and activate it as the instructions say (within 50 seconds). I try and simultaneously push the 1 and 3 key and get nothing but a constant blinking of 31, 00, ad. I have re-read the instructions, and it doesn't tell me to do anything different.

Can anyone assist? Much appreciated.

Thanks,

It's probably taking you too long to reach the keypad. You have to press 1 + 3 within 60 seconds of powering it up to change the address.

It may be easier to take the keypad off the base, and unplug the harness if it uses a plug in harness, or loosen the set screw on the black wire only, wait a few, then reconnect.

Also check your keypad model. The 6150RF model addresses differently.

Thanks RonFL. I made it in time, but now I'm getting a pad message "Fire Check 01". I have to figure out what that means now.

It means that zone 1 is still programmed as a fire zone (the default), and you either have no resistor connected across the zone inputs, or you have an open circuit on zone 1.
