I've got a floor jack that doesn't leak any fluid, but it will only lift the car a couple inches. I keep pumping but it goes no higher? It used to work just fine.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,

Rock

I have a 2 ton bottle jack with the same symptoms. I did exploratory surgery and found the one-way washer that pressurizes the cylinder had become almost mush being in contact with the fluid for all these years, and was not pushing the fluid. The O rings behind it kept if from leaking, but it was just not working. Buying an exact replacement hasn't been successful. Manufacturer's website may help.
