It seems I may require a concrete chainwall (retaining wall) for water runoff on the side property line because part of my back yard is around 8 inches higher than my side neighbor's property. The other potential option is to create a swale when they do the final grading of the land. I will be putting up a 6 foot cedar fence with 4x6 posts. My questions:
1) If I put a chainwall up on my side property line and not the rear property line, what are my options for getting the fence heights to match?
2) Any input on swales? Would it become a pain in the butt holding water? Is it difficult for landscaping? The house is being built in Kenner, La (suburb of New Orleans).
any input is greatly appreciated
thanks
