I have a Carrier 4 ton unit mounted in the attic with the compressor outside. The insulated refrigerant lines (2" lines) running from the compressor through the attic to the main unit are dripping water. How can I correct this?

or did u find an actual leak u can see. Sometimes if there are no "leaks" in the pipes, and this was not happening before, then it can be caused by an under or overcharged system..that is..the optimum amount of "freon" has changed.
I saw a refridgerator one time that was overcharged and had actual ice buildup on the pipes in the back.

If the insulation on the tubing is saturated with water, you need to strip off the old and reinsulate.

If the refrigerant line is sweating there is a problem with the insulation.
It has either failed and is not insulating or it is loose and air is getting under the insulation causing condensation.
If the insulation is in good shape you could tape up the openings to seal it up.
If in poor shape you can replace it all.
The foam insulation available at plumbing stores would do in a pinch.
