Hi,

I just finished installing my DSC Alarm System. During initial power up the green check mark lights up and the yellow triangle "System Trouble". I was trying to assign the keypad but I am unable to get to the programming mode. The keypad beebs and the "Red Keypad" Symbol appears. When I press the # key I go back to the original screen with greeen check mark and the yellow triangle.

Does anyone have idea what the problem could be?

Thanks

When you were setting the keypad address, did you set the address as 1x or 0x? If you did the latter, you set the keypad as "global" (which doesn't mean what most people _think_ it means).

Press and hold # until the display changes, then press 1. Then you should be able to go back into programming and set the address correctly.

I got it to work and I am starting to progamm the system.

I am in the process of setting up my wireless door sensors and came across your thread on how to program them.

You mentioned:

Enrolling the transmitter - code 804
Wireless attribute - code 101 for zone 1 and 8 for wireless
Zone type - code 001

No problem with these steps, except the last one about "enabling the zone for the partition" which I could not do. Any help on this one?

Even though I not follow the last step, I was able to set up the first sensor, except when I open the door the door chime does not sound. I checked that it was enabled and it was.
Is there some other setting I forgot?

If you are enrolling the transmitter as zone 1, it's already enabled by default (the first 16 zones are enabled for partition 1, by default).

The question is what zone type did you enroll the zone as? Some zone types do not chime.

When you entered location 001, what did you enter _afterward_?

I entered 001 03.

What should I enter if I want the door chime to come on when the door is opened?

Zone type 3 is the standard instant zone, which chimes. How did you turn on the chime function? If you used the function key, you have to hold it for a few seconds until the keypad chimes.

Does the chime work if you enter the actual chime command (*4)?
