had to replace condensor fan. old fan 3 wire:purple, black, and orange. new fan same specs. same blades. same pitch. has 4 wires:yellow, black, brown, and brown/white stripe. wired the new fan in and it doesnt seem to have enough thrust. after ten minutes the fan overheats and thermal cut off shuts fan off. i wired the yellow and black to the power points on the switch board. the brown and brown/white wires to the capacitor on the same side. did i screw this up. the old capacitor has dual control. do i wire the brown and white to the power side and the brown to the outlet side. is this what i should have done? i even tried to use a seperate cap. for the fan and wired the browns again to the same side of the capacitor. anyone have a better diagram then the one on the side of the motor?

check to see if the bearing in the new motor turns easy. Rarely, you get a bad motor from the factory and the shaft is kind of "sticky". This would cause your issue. Otherwise, The Voltage being supplied to the motor is too low. Why did the old one fail?
Besides that, I would look at the blade again and verify 100% for sure that it is the one that matches the new motor. If so, check the motor HP on the new one to the HP on the old one. Someone screwed up somewhere.

Again, the browns do not go to the same side of the cap:bad poster:
