Have had no problems with my unmonitored system (ADT Safewatch Plus Entrepreneur installed around '90) for 15 years, now keep getting failure to communicate trouble. I followed the advice in another old thread here to hold down 9, then master code after 3 beeps, followed by 034#0*,** to disable the phone home attempts.
Several weeks later I get the same trouble code so it didn't work. BTW, this started about 2-3 months after switching phone service to VOIP. If due to that (on unmonitored system), why the delay in getting the trouble code, and now it keeps coming back. Thanks for any and all advice!

Did you use the _master_ code or the _installer_ code?
The master code will not alter that part of the programming.
You never had the problem before, because even though the account was cancelled, the system was still making it's automatic timer tests and getting a communication confirmation, they were just going to the electronic equivalent of a "dead letter office".

Thank you for replying. I tried the master code and what I thought is the installer code (96321) based on somewhere else in this forum. When using the master code all lights flashed like I've never seen and there were some beeps suggesting something was happening, using the above installer code there was no response. I tried the installer code a couple times, and waited a minute or two one time to see if it did anything after possibly trying to call out. Is this the correct installer code or where can I find that?
Should I try connecting the system back up to a regular phone line or would the installer code be easier if I can find that? If the system has been calling out for the past 15 years, it seems we would have noticed the phone in use unless it only did it late at night.

The bad news is that some of the more heavily ADT modified versions of this system (a modified Moose Z900) not only have a different programming map, but they also made the dialer programming permanent (I _think_ it can be changed by the ADT version of the programming software).
It sounds like you have the go to programming access codes sorted out.
Try this thread: http://forum.doityourself.com/electronic-alarms-home-security-devices/212467-adt-safewatch-entreprenuer-default-master-code-dialer-disabling.html

Thanks again for the reply MrRon. I just found a piece of paper folded up and hidden under the battery in the control panel! Along with lots of technical info it has Installer Program Authorization Code and 5 spaces in which the installer wrote 76354. Following that in () is 96321 (which you or someone else indicated is often a default value). So they must have changed our installer code when installed. After entering this code (after holding down 9), the lights all lit up and I did the 034#0*,**. I'll give it some time to see if the trouble alarm sounds, but I'm betting this fixed it.

The trouble alarm for failure to communicate has stopped, so it appears that this did fix the problem for good. Thanks for sharing these commands to do this with the rest of us. Of course when I called ADT they said they can't help me out unless I pay them $$$.
