I currently have a Safewatch Pro monitored fire/security system from ADT. I have an ESL 240-COe carbon monoxide detector tied into my system. The detector started to chirp about every 5 minutes and the green led flashes every 1-2 seconds which I believe indicates the end of the sensor life. My question is since the detector is existing can I just purchase a new one and replace the old one or do I have to have a technician come to my house to swap it out?

It's just a straight device swap out; there's no intelligence in these devices. Swap away.
Just unplug the phone from the alarm in case you short the alarm wires while you are handling them.

Got the detector today. Besides disconnecting the phone line from the panel while I swap out the detector should I be concerned about which order to remove the existing wires and which order to rewire the new detector?
Thank you in advance.

Out of habit, when connecting 4-wire devices like this, I usually connect the power negative last, but that's just a leftover habit from working on higher powered DC systems, like electric cranes.
There's not really any special order, though.
