Inground pool (steel walls with vinyl liner) with cantilever coping. Edges seem kind of rough and the kids keep scraping their legs when they get in/out on the steps. Also I have steel steps, which has 3 steps, compared to most vinyl molded steps which have 4 steps. I think between the steeper steps, and the coping which seems to make the top step pretty deep, creates a slight hazard. Is there anything that can be done to the concrete coping to smooth it out?

Also all the cuts for the expansion joints seem to drain alot of water back into the pool, which seems to bring dirt in with it. Any solutions here?
