hello i have either a 1987 or 1988 tiller model merc outboard.
does anyone know if these have thermostats ?
because my repair manual shows absolutley nothing on thermostats, or replacement.

I'll take a look tomorrow I have been out of town, another thing to check is the pop off valve. If it sticks shut it will cool while at idle but won't let enough water through the powrehead at full throttle.
