Working on a re-side of my house with Hardi lap siding. I know a lot of guys use scrap tyvek to flash under their butt joints, but I didn't have to wrap the house, so don't have any tyvek to use. What else do people generally use to flash under the butt joints?

I always used strips of tarpaper under the siding joints. That was on wood siding, I do not know if it is a problem using it with Hardi.

Felt, tyvek, any type of home wrap.
