Hello,
We have a moose z1100e wired security system and need to add zones to the system after installing new windows. we converted 4 formerly fixed windows to opening windows so i would like to add wireless contacts to these new openings if possible. I have been told you can purchase some sort of adapter for the moose system to add wireless contacts. Can anybody help with advice on where to find the hardware and how to proceed with the project. Thanks!

With one of these old warhorses, that's not as easy as it sounds. There _are_ a number of wireless receivers that can be wired to a conventional alarm zone.

A good example are the multichannel units made by Linear:

Security Solutions (http://www.linearcorp.com/wireless_security.html).

You can either connect the reciever to an unused zone, or wire it's output into an existing zone with your other conventional windows.

Thanks MrRonFL.
I will take a look at Security Solutions. To clarify my earlier post (or try), my existing system appears to have enough zone capacity, but I am trying to modify the system to communicate with new wireless contact entry zones.

The link is to the product page at Linear corp, who makes wireless receivers designed to connect to the hardwired zone inputs of alarm systems that are not designed with a native wireless solution.
