I want to get this wireless keypad for my Lynxr-en system so that I can mute the main control panel and move it to a locked closet. I have a few questions about programming it. I know about the house code programming, but is that all I have to do the make this work or is this keypad programmed as an actual Zone on the Lynx? for example, like the back door is zone 03 on my system would this be a similar situation for the keypad or is the keypad not a zone at all and just used to arm and disarm and show system status? Would I even have to notify the central station that I added this (don't want to spend 30 mins on the phone...) because I am planning on using the panic features on this keypad, and the keypad just sends a signal to the lynx to activate panic 99, 96, or 95 so would the lynx send the signal that the panic came from the control panel itself or from an outside keypad device? Does the same go for arming and disarming, because I know that when an alarm has occurred the CS does get the cancel code signal after I enter it. Basically are all signals transmitted to the CS as local Lynx panel signals or external device signals? Thank you

No, no zones, it's essentially a remote keypad. All of the panics are the same 95, 96, 99 set as if from the main keypad.

thanks for that info.
when I do move the lynx panel, will powering it completely down for about an hour or two erase any programming?

You could leave it powered down for a few years and the programming won't change. It's an eeprom, doesn't require power to maintain memory.
