Have a manco go cart. The issue is that the drive does not disengage. When I get it started, you can't hit the brake to stop because it keeps surging forward. When you do stop it dies. You can crank it up again but it surges because the drive belt stays engaged so you start off racing again. Will not stay and idle unless chocked up and the wheels spin like mad. The only help I found in what paperwork I have is that the torque converter needs maintenance. It calls for some sort of moly grease (molybdenum disulfide based dry lubricant). A search showed this related to graphite. I tried some I have in an alcohol base, which worked for about 20 minutes. I got some Sta-Lube engine assmbly lube from an auto parts store that has the moly in it, but it is a grease base and this didn't work at all. The questions are does this sound like the correct problem I am dealing with? Am a I possibly looking at a clutch problem instead?
