I had a new garage door installed about 2 months ago (SDP38 by IDEAL). At the same time, they also replaced control panel which is attached to the wall (398LM). My opener is also less than 1 year old (Liftmaster 3585). About once a week, the door reverses itself. The controller starts blinking as if it’s the sensors. The door reverses itself in various points of the closing (sometimes when it first starts, sometimes when it’s almost down). It closes after 2-4 tries of pressing remote control. I noticed that this usually happens after the door has been in open position for 30 minutes or so, but I am not sure if it’s always true. It's frustrating to have this happen after spending all this money on the door. The guy who intalled it came out and moved the sensors a little, but it didn't help. Any help is appreciated.

If the main light on the motor unit flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. Nothing else will cause the light to flash like that. Each sensor has a small light and you need to make sure both lights are lit and not flickering. It can be tough to see and you may need to get down next to each sensor to see it. Also check the connections on the rear of the motor unit. The sensors are connected to terminals 2 and 3 and should be tight. Make sure the wires can't move when the motor starts. There is also a possibility of a loose connection on the logic board. This will take some digging and is the last thing I would look for.
