Hey Gang, I need to remove a tree before I pour a garage slab. It is a 25 foot tall maple with a 12" diameter trunk.... something like that. I want to bring it down myself, but even if I hire the tree guys, what about the stump? I can grind the stump down, but does the root ball need to be excavated from the ground? I don't want it to rot away and years from now have the slab crack. Is this a problem? Is grinding the stump enough? What do you guys think ??
