When is the best time to pull up or cut back wildflowers that bloomed in the spring? I have a flower bed that, except for a couple of day lilies, has already bloomed and now all that is left is dead flowers and green stems.

If they have finished flowering, you can pinch them at the base to get rid of the stems. Not knowing what kind of wildflowers you have, I'd be remiss to make that a blanket statement of all flowers. If you plant enough varieties and blooming times of wildflowers you don't have to worry about purging them. They will all die in the winter, ready for next spring. The new emerging flowers will overpower the dying ones and it should look nice for a long time. Mix in some crimson clover with it to keep the color going.
