Can anyone help my cherry trees?
Last summer when they were full of fruit they were also full of earwigs!! Is there anything that I can put around them to stop this? I dont want to spray as my kids love going out & eating straight from the trees. There must be some natural thing I can do??

From what I have read, earwigs climb up the trunk of the tree from the soil and foliage below. The suggestion is to keep the ground clear, and spray the ground with pesticide, if you'd rather not spray the tree directly. Otherwise, one chemically safe method is to tightly wrap the trunk with plastic wrap, then paint a product onto the plastic wrap that is sticky, like tanglefoot, which will prevent any crawling insects from heading up the trunk.

You'd obviously want to do this early enough that you keep the pests out of the trees before the fruit sets on. And you'd want to be sure to remove the plastic as soon as it's feasible.
