Here's one, i cut my apple tree down because it was leaning 25
degrees, and planted another one. It's been 2 yrs. since i cut it
down. It started growing the first yr. now it has completely filled
the 30" ring and even growing in the grass area. Is there any way to kill the roots? The trunk is about 7" in Dia., cut down at ground level. The new tree is 2 yrs. old and doing OK, just looking for a way to end the first trees remains. This is all Greek to me.
Thanks

You may have to break out a pick and dig out the stump, breaking the root system. You could also drill holes in the stump so it will rot faster. The suckers could be dug up fairly easily, as they are probably surface suckers.

I drilled some holes about 6"deep about how long till it rots and stops growing from the roots, i don't want to dig up.

It may take a season or so, but if you want to accelerate it, and have access to it, saltpeter poured down the holes, then water, will help it go faster. Not sure where you would get it, though.
