Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on making a rain garden?

I have a rainbarrel on the side of my house, adjacent to my
yard and the runnoff from the top hose of the barrel flows
into my yard.

I am thinking of a small 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 area for some wildflowers and plants that would absorb the water from
the overflow of the rainbarrel.

Thank you for explaining a bit. I did not know what a rain garden was.

You might get some advice from other members if you say where you live. I'm sure a rain garden in Seattle would be very different than one in Las Vegas.

The topic was new to me as well until our small town got some grant money to incorporate three small pond areas in front of our municipal building. I guess it/they catch and slow the run off from the building and parking area and thus reduce stream polution. I'm all for the rain garden, but I always hate to see government money being spent on things we should be doing anyway.

If you would like I can snap a couple of pictures to show you what they created?
