Hello all, we are in the process of corn blasting a 50 yr. old cabin located in Idaho and have had several suggestions as to what to use for stain afterwards. Thought I'd throw out the question to the pros here and see what I get! I've heard of Sikkens (pricey!), Superdeck, Weatherall, and Columbia stains, all of which I'm sure are good, but what is going to be best and last longest? I understand that I will probably need to restain every 3-5 years, but would like to start with the best base I can after we blast it. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I don't believe I've used any of those brands but know that sikkens and super deck have a good reputation. Generally you can't go wrong buying your coatings from your local paint store [not big box paint dept] They should know which of their coatings will give the best job for the look that you want...... and price is usually a good indicator of the quality of the stains.
