I have a riding mower about 2 years old. When I start it up it runs fine for a few minutes and then dies. It will not start again even if I let it set for days. It will start however if I take the fuel line off before the carburator and blow compressed air through into the carb. It will then start and run all day long. Then after I refuel it or it sits for a few days it will play the same game and be fine when I blow some air through it.

Any ideas.....sound familiar?

Will be very helpful if you post the model # craftsman, and even better if you include the engine model and type.

I've seen one or two of these that had a stuck inlet needle. I ordered a new needle, and it was made differently. Apparently they saw the problem and re-designed the needle. I never had the problem recur after replacing the needle. Sounds like your problem.
